When they are completed separately and then spliced together, the four giant ring trusses weigh more than 8,500 tons in total. When the four big guys meet in the air and "embracing" each other, it is the most shocking and spectacular scene in the whole process of carving the ice ribbon.
The rope body of the National Speed Skating Oval roof adopts sealed steel wire rope. The inner layer of the rope adopts round steel wire, and the outer layer adopts 23 layers of Z-shaped steel wire. The inner round steel wire and outer Z-shaped steel wire are all plated with mixed rare earth alloy, the structure is compact and the surface is smooth. Its appearance is smooth, and the friction coefficient with the cable clamp node is large; the anti-corrosion performance is strong, and the bearing capacity is strong; the Z-shaped steel wire on the outer layer of the cable body needs to be drawn from a circular wire rod for many times before it is formed. In the process of building the ice ribbon, China independently developed the Z-shaped steel wire for the outer layer of the cable, breaking through the "jamming neck" technology.
